Dennis, I can’t wait to read the next installment. I am going to say though – I never once saw you as a loser… Isn’t it wild when we look back at our high school years, what we thought of ourselves. Makes me wonder if anyone really liked it. I wish I had know back then you wrote. Maybe you could have helped educate me. English, not one of my strongest.

Oliver Twist is my favorite book, and the movie version from 1948 is incredible ( the movie is pretty frightening though… I don’t think Jack is quite ready for it yet) David Lean did Great Expectations too , which is also a great movie in every way. I have read most of the popular Dickens stuff. Tale of Two Cities may be the best; it is the most focused. Dickens as you know wrote many of his books in serial form, bringing out a chapter at a time published in the newspaper. That’s why is work sometimes goes off in tangents, bringing in a lot of characters and subplots.

I’ll have to pick up on Dickens again and read some of his other stuff like The Mystery of Edwin Drood, or Bleak House

That was awesome! Thank you for the article. I’ve tried reading some articles and books on writing before and eventually came to the conclusion that you either write or you don’t and no advice can be groundbreaking or life-changing.
You article changed that idea for me. It is something new and it’s something I will try.
Thank you one more time.
